Working on cinematics allows you to tackle diverse aspects of VFX : some needs to be highly specific for the camera lens or shot composition, while others are more systemic for ease of use and consistency in the artistic style.
Here is some of my work on Jusant, including both the integration and polish of systems I didn’t create myself and some others where I made variations specifically for the task trying to match the style already established by the team.

Octopus behaviour was made using Blueprint Spline Particle Mesh & Niagara simple flocking system.
The Octopus mesh, render and vertex animation was made by another VFX artist.
Diverse use of the main feature vfx "echo" on the character, surfaces and the observatory's motifs.
Particles are scattered with texture sampling.
